About Me
My name is Grace Rossman, I am a senior at Grosse Pointe North High School and the Managing Editor for our school paper, North Pointe. Throughout my three years writing for the newspaper, I developed a passion for the art and technique of journalism. I have not only expanded my writing and design skills, but I have learned lessons in how to be a leader. Being able to write and design for a printed paper is something I absolutely adore, and the knowledge I have gained will stay with me as I aim for a career in journalism. My dad, who taught me how to write, also wrote for his high school newspaper. When I saw his articles on the dusty, yellowing pages of those old papers, I knew that I wanted my writing to be preserved like his, which is why I joined North Pointe my sophomore year. The following year, I became a Page Editor, where I learned how to design and express my creativity on the pages of the newspaper. Presently, I am a member of the 3-person executive board, as the managing editor. In this position, I am afforded the opportunity to work with and lead my peers by writing and editing stories, designing pages, and making final decisions as to content and design. In addition to journalism, I have played the violin for 6 years, and taken part in several orchestras and music competitions. Playing the violin is the one thing I love just as much as writing.
